Baby Lips – Creepy Name – Good Balm

Is there a more sinister name in beauty than ‘Baby Lips’?

Lips in beauty are a thing to be sexualised and saucy – Siren red, like a baboons bum. The context of babies seems a bit – weird.

Anyway the bblogger community has been talking about baby lips like the wheel had been reinvented, or perhaps with the same vigour as when fire was discovered.

I resisted. At first.

Then I was in Morrisons and someone was eyeing them up. Then I was in Superdrug and a woman said ‘God I hope they have Baby Lips – they had all sold out’. My ears pricked up. I grabbed one. I tucked it under my shopping. And so, like the sheep I am – I buckled and took it to the till – already feeling like ‘bahhh you are wasting your money! You could spend this on a Frap!’

And the worst is – I really like it.

I don’t LOVE it – the taste lingers and makes you pull a face like a cat’s bum when it hits your throat – but overall – they do make your lips very soft. Damn the hype for making me feel cheated – I can’t get any enjoyment out of liking this. I do carry it everywhere though. And kind of wear it in bed. And on dog walks. RAWR OKAY AND AT WORK.

I like it!

Don’t judge me.

Anyway. If you are the other person under the stone who didn’t buy this last month – just strap on your big girl pants and get one. The name’s creepy, it’s nothing new for our lifetime, but it does make your lips verrrry soft.

Grrrrr. So this is the weirdest review ever! Passive agressive time, whooo.

Baby lips is £2.50 in Superdrug/Morrissons right now – and you can find them everywhere!

Love
